How to edit a photo

  2. Pick a tool: crop and straighten, adjust light and color, apply a filter, or add text, shapes, stickers and watermarks.
  3. Fine-tune any layer by selecting it. Undo and redo keep every step, and Compare shows your original.
  4. Open Export to choose the size and format, then download, copy or share the result.

What you can do

  • Crop, rotate and straighten with exact ratios such as 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9, or ready sizes for posts, stories and thumbnails.
  • Fix light and color with exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, warmth and more, or one-click Auto enhance and 15 filters.
  • Add text in any language, including Arabic and other right-to-left scripts, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, with outlines, shadows and background boxes. Meme text is one click away.
  • Draw and annotate with a pen, highlighter, arrows, shapes, speech bubbles and emoji.
  • Hide private details by pixelating, blurring or covering faces, license plates and documents.
  • Remove plain backgrounds to get transparent PNG logos and signatures, with brushes to erase or restore by hand.
  • Protect your work with a text or logo watermark, placed in a corner or repeated across the image.
  • Fit any photo on a square or story canvas without cropping, with a color or blurred background, borders and rounded corners.

Private by design

Everything happens in your browser. Your images are not uploaded to ByteTony or anywhere else, and exported images don’t include location or camera details (EXIF). To continue later, save a project file: it stays on your device.

Questions

Is the image editor free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on how many images you edit, and no watermark added to your images.

Which formats can I open and save?

You can open JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP images up to 10,000 pixels per side and 32 megapixels. You can save as PNG, JPEG and WebP, and as AVIF when your browser supports it. Animated images open as a still image of their first frame.

Why does my transparent background turn white?

JPEG can’t store transparency. Export as PNG or WebP to keep it.

Can I edit text after I add it?

Yes. Every text, shape, drawing and sticker stays a separate layer until you export, and a saved project file keeps them editable next time.
